A handsome country-made English oak chest of drawers with brushing slide. Very nice coloring with a good patina. Unique drawer configuration - one felt covered brushing slide at the very top (for necklaces and jewelry perhaps?), two short drawers below that and four long drawers below the two. Lively with solid bracket feet. Stunningly detailed brass Chippendale hardware. Well-constructed and an excellent heirloom piece. Beautiful dovetail drawer construction. Imported from England. A very pleasing chest with good proportions.
