A Pair of Antique Japanese Porcelain Plates Imari Gilt 19th Century

Shipping calculated at checkout.

Beautifully hand-painted Japanese Imari porcelain plates with scalloped rim and vibrant decoration of plum blossoms, bamboo leaves, and seasonal flowers. The use of blue, red, and gilt highlights reflects the refined Meiji-period taste. The reverse shows a neatly written apocryphal Ming Chenghua mark within double blue circles, surrounded by underglaze blue scrolls. Collector’s Notes: Plates of this type were produced in the Meiji era for both the domestic and export markets. The auspicious design of plum and bamboo symbolizes resilience and renewal, making this piece especially desirable for collectors of Japanese and Chinese-inspired porcelain.
